All techniques are taught with precision and under great attention and supervision of the coach, and always after adequate preparation of the body.
Do I need to book a place in class?
For adults classes there is no need to book ahead, you are welcome to come along and try. If you prefer to speak to someone ahead of class, feel free to reach out via whatsapp, social media or email. For children’s classes, please book a free trial online here. It only takes a few minutes to input the required information.
What do I need to bring to capoeira class?
As capoeira is a physical activity, it is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. Participants are welcome to train in trainers or barefoot, however please note that in Fighting Fit we train on mats and must therefore train without shoes. We suggest you take a water bottle to class. Otherwise all you need is an open mind and a desire to learn and have fun.
How does a capoeira class run?
Every class will begin with a thorough warm up to condition and prepare the body and mind for the demands of the class ahead. Class will then explore the elements of capoeira; training movement techniques, music and usually ending with an opportunity to combine all the ideas by ‘playing’ capoeira. There is no set formula or syllabus that we follow, every class is tailored to the needs of the participants following the ethos and methodology of Mestre Papa-Léguas | Tucum Capoeira.
Is there a grading system?
In Tucum Capoeira Manchester, we do follow the grading system of Mestre Papa-Léguas / Tucum Manchester. Receiving your first belt (cordão) and then subsequently changing to the next, is NOT a test, but rather a recognition of the work you have put into your capoeira training and an acknowledgment of your achievement.
How much do lessons cost?
For adults classes we have varying costs for drop in classes or bundle deals. Please get in touch for more info, or come along to class and chat to one of the team. To check the cost of classes for children, please head to Tucum Capoeira Kids.
